Emergency Life Support Course (ELS)

Brief Overview:
The overall aim of the Emergency Life
Support Course is to provide the
students with sufficient knowledge and
skills to competently and confidently
deal with life threatening conditions.
This course is ideal if you would like
to be trained in Basic life support
skills and know what to do when
initially faced with an emergency
situation.
We are able to
deliver the courses in-house on days and
at times which suit you including
evenings and weekends

Provide the student with the knowledge,
skills and confidence to deal
with a first aid emergency
Course content

Recording and Reporting

Managing an incident / casualty

Administer CPR (Adult, Child & Infant)

Administer first aid to a casualty who is choking
-
Administer first aid to a casualty who is suffering from shock
-
Administer first aid to a casualty who is wounded and bleeding
-
Administer first aid to a casualty who is unconscious (including seizure)
Delivery Method:
Didactic, PowerPoint (including video
clips), Group Work (buzz groups and
practical scenarios).
Target Audience:
Any person over 10 yrs who would like to
learn how to deal with a Basic First Aid
emergency.
Course location:
Delivered In House all training venues
must comply with the HSE requirements

Length:
3 hours (½
day)
Frequency:
Every 12 months
Any associated award:
A training provider certificate valid
for 12 months issued on completion of
assessment.
