HCP Basic life support / Basic Anaphylaxis management (2 - 2½ hours)  Course Enquires

Course content:

HCP Medical Emergency Training for Dental Staff. (3 - 4 hours)  Course Enquires

HCP Medical Gas course (Med-Gas) (3 - 4 hours)  Course Enquires

Learning Outcomes

• Understand basic anatomy of respiratory/cardiac systems.
• Understand any contra-indications of using Medical Oxygen.
• Administering oxygen therapy.
• Airway management systems.
• Use of oxygen with an adjunct to aid resuscitation.
• The safe use and procedures when using oxygen in emergency situations.

*  Administering Analgesic gas therapy.
*  Understand any contra-indications of using analgesia.
*  Recognise and deal with cyanide poisoning.
*  Recognise and deal with Hydrofluoric acid poisoning.

*  These courses can be added to the Medical Gas course on request at the time of booking they may be an extra cost to cover resources.

HCP Conflict Resolution Course (2 - 4 hours)  Course Enquires

Brief Overview:

Conflict Resolution Training has been developed to assist NHS staff and professionals to deal effectively with incidents of potential violence or aggression. The training will enable staff to recognise the warning signs of a potentially violent situation and take steps to prevent it from escalating.

Learning Outcomes:

To be able to describe the common causes of conflict.
To be able to give examples of communication breakdown.
Awareness of communication models that can assist in conflict resolution.
To be able to describe patterns of behaviour that may be encountered during different interactions.
To be able to explain the different warning and danger signs.
Awareness of examples of impact factors.
To be able to describe the use of distance when dealing with conflict.
Awareness of the use of “reasonable force” as it applies to conflict resolution.
Awareness of different methods of dealing with possible conflict situations

HCP Safe Manual Handling Course (MH) (2 - 3 hours)  Course Enquires

Course content

At the end of the course students will understand the risk of manual handling operations and will be able to identify how to move objects safely, in order that manual handling risks are reduced in the workplace.

At the end of the course students will be able to:

• Identify the relevant Health & Safety information for Manual handling
• Understand basic spinal anatomy, structure and function
• Causes of back pain
• Manual Handling risk assessment in the work place
• Correct positions and movements leading to moving and lifting objects.

HCP Fire Safety Course (FSC) (1½ - 2 hours Course Enquires

Brief Overview:

The fire safety course is intended for any person who is expected to respond to a fire alarm or may actually be confronted by a real fire and may be required or have the opportunity to use a fire extinguisher.  This fire safety course is based on the requirements of The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.

At the end of the course students will be able to:

•  Fire drills and evacuation

HCP Fire Marshal Course (FM) (4 - 5 hours Course Enquires

Brief Overview:

Insurers are now increasingly requiring their customers to demonstrate that they are
taking a responsible approach to fire safety, particularly the safety of staff, customers, visitors and property. This Fire Marshal training course meets the requirements of The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.

At the end of the course students will be able to:

• Reporting procedures

• Liaison with the fire service
• Fire prevention and awareness

Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering (FSC)    Food Safety                                                                                                  

This qualification is designed principally for those who are, or intend to be, food handlers working in catering. A food handler is any person, in any type of food business, who handles food, whether open or packaged (food includes drinks and ice). This qualification may also be appropriate for people whose work requires them to enter food premises, e.g. equipment maintenance engineers, off-site business owners/managers and delivery personnel. The aim of this qualification is to provide a basic knowledge of food hygiene.

Holders of this qualification will have knowledge and understanding of the importance of food hygiene, associated food hazards, good hygiene practice and controls based upon an awareness of food safety management systems. This is important to understanding and maintaining good practice in the handling, processing and preparation of safe food.

This is a short programme usually delivered over one day with a 40 minute “multiple choice” exam at the end of the day.
