Workshop Practical Scenario Sessions

Brief Overview:

The latest recommendation from the HSE is that practical refresher courses of basic skills should be carried out annually.  This practical scenario session builds on your expertise and confidence by involving you in realistic situations with simulated casualties. Candidates will practise first aid in practical, hands-on scenario sessions in their own workplace.

Possible Course content:

  • Casualty care

  • Managing the incident

  • Resuscitation

  • Treatment of an unconscious casualty

  • Basic control of bleeding

  • Shock Management

  • Medical Gas practical scenario

  • AED practical scenario

  • Burns & Scalds scenario

  • Multiple Casualty scenarios

  • Emergency response

Possible Courses:

Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
Medical Gas course
Emergency Life Support course

Learning Outcomes:

The student will gain the knowledge, skill and confidence to deal with a workplace first aid emergency

Course location:

Delivered In House (Training venues can be arranged, phone for details)

Course Length:

Courses are flexible in duration and content depending on the student's / company's training needs.

Delivery Method:

Didactic, PowerPoint (including video clips), Group Work (buzz groups and practical scenarios).

Training Pack:

We can provide a comprehensive student pack, workbook and reference notes if required.

Frequency:

Every 12 months (as recommended by the HSE)
